I have the most wonderful group of 4th graders anyone has ever seen. I teach at a public charter school in Minnesota and I LOVE IT. I have 15 children in my room. Two of them are brand new to our school this year, the other 13 have been here for their entire school career. 99% of the children in my school are from low income families. Many of my children deal with obstacles daily that are hard to imagine. Even though they have crazy homes lives we except no excuses and have high standards for each one of our children. Our school has been named a "beating the odds" school. We have made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for the past two years. When you walk into our school and the classrooms is it hard to explain the atmosphere that we have here. There is an undeniable amount of love and respect for our students and their families. We have extremely high expectations and know that each one of our children are able to achieve them!
