My students will be researching the microbiomes in and on our bodies in order to understand how they keep us safe from microorganisms that want to make us sick. The microscopes will allow students to see things that they cannot with their naked ere and will bring this concept to life. This is so important in our current climate, as being able to understand microorganisms allows us to understand diseases and viruses, which is crucial to individual and global safety. My students do not have microscopes at their school and while online simulations and pictures are great, they only push students understanding so far.
