As students ease back into the in-person learning environment, I'd like to provide flexible seating options. Flexible seating has always been a dream in my classroom and I'd really like to make it a reality for students. I think most of us know that we don't have to be sitting in a hard chair at a desk to be productive. Oftentimes, the more comfortable I am, the more productive I am. Most of us learned through the last two years, how to get comfortable at home. I like to keep my classroom a safe, welcoming, and home-y environment. I want students to feel relaxed and comfortable in this space. I like to give options for seating, but right now we are limited to a small table, student desks, and two yoga mats. These items are also easy to clean and store in the classroom. Flexible seating has SO MANY benefits! It gives students a choice, a little empowerment, and comfort, too. It also creates a sense of community within the room, while incorporating sensory needs too.
