As a first year teacher, it has been a challenge finding all the things I need to make sure my students are set up for success. I worry that what I have gotten them is not enough. I can only hope that everything I am doing now will help them in every possible way. Many of the items that I have already purchased for my class are aimed to create an inviting environment that allows for them to feel comfortable, safe, and loved. I hope that with some further support, they'll benefit and truly feel like someone cares about them and that they are worth it. I want them to feel like just by having these particular items, they'll being able to be proud to call those things their "own." Many of my students are low-income, undergo lifestyles we might not even understand and do not get as many chances to really express themselves, get the education they deserve, or are even able enjoy this life worth living; and because of that, I hope to try and make that possible for them in any way, shape or form.
