In an effort to build a classroom full of critical thinkers I need to ensure that our classroom environment is conducive to good communication and collaboration. In order to do this, we need a way to view the work of others so we can discuss the strategies and thinking being used in our small groups. I plan on using the Apple TV and iPad stand to wirelessly connect my iPad to my ceiling-mounted projector. This will allow me to walk around to various groups of students and share their work with the entire class. Without a doubt - this will improve the learning discourse in our classroom during our math lessons. Having the ability to cast the images of a group's models created during our math exploration to the class as a whole will allow for us to discuss that group's ideas, ask questions, offer other alternate solutions, as we are all viewing that group’s work together at the same time through the Apple TV connection. I know that by improving the math discourse amongst my students I will see huge gains in their understanding of mathematical concepts.
