Do you know that it is crucial for students to learn to read by learning the sounds that are associated with strings of letters? Sensory/fidget poppers can do more than help students that need to fidget. They can help students organize the sounds in words in a fun way so that the words get locked into memory. This process is called orthographic mapping. The poppers I am requesting will be used by my classroom teachers when they work on phonological awareness skills with their students in small groups. As students sound out words they will click a pop for each phoneme. Then teachers can ask follow up questions like how many phonemes or syllables in the word, what sound did they make at the end?, etc. This will helps students store their words into long term memory. Thank you for your help with this project!
