PROMPT is a holistic approach to articulation and phonological therapy (how we use our motor abilities to produce speech sounds). The PROMPT method has proved to have a very high success rate in students who present with apraxia, phonological disorders, and articulation impairments. Articulation and phonological disorders can greatly affect students' confidence, social skills, and emotional development. These students may struggle with effectively communicating their wants, needs, opinions, and ideas. By pursuing PROMPT training, I would increase my abilities in assessing and treating such disorders. My hope is to more effectively improve my students' lives and communication, by implementing evidence-based practices.
