Over several weeks I will be reading these emergent storybooks to my students. I will read each book several times with the following objectives: - readers use pictures to make predictions - readers change their voices to sound like the character - readers connect pages together to tell the story - readers talk about books with their partners - readers make connections to the story - readers dramatize the story - readers support their thinking with evidence from the text After each lesson students will have the opportunity, using the books from Donor's Choose, to engage with the texts independently and with a partner to practice the lesson objective. This is a critical component of the lesson and learning.
