These materials will give my students a place to hold their brilliant reading and writing learning. Students will use their composition books as journals, where they can do both their assigned writing and their creative, free form writing. Students will explore functional writing, poetry, narrative writing, argumentative writing, and what it means to be part of the writing community. My fifth graders are learning the sixth grade curriculum for both reading and writing! Students will use their folders to store their reading learning. The prongs will help them to stay organized. These folders will become a space where students can reflect on their learning and where I can quickly assess their growth.
