I estimate that my classroom is about 1,200 square feet. With one air purifier stationed near the front of the room and one near the back, these HEPA filters will help keep the air in our classroom safer for our class and better protect my students against COVID. My students are 8-9-year-olds who are ineligible for vaccination against COVID. With the proliferation of the more contagious Delta variant, I worry for everyone's safety as we return to school. My school is practicing universal masking, but the filters would provide all of us with an extra layer of safety and protection against the airborne virus. For some students, this will be their first return to school since March 2020. I am trying to take any and all steps to help ease their nerves and help them feel as safe and at home as possible in their new classroom.
