These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. "Hidden Figures" will be a welcome addition to our course content, and it will add diversity. I personally was inspired by the story of Mary Jackson, Dorothy Vaughan, Katherine Johnson, and Christine Darden. I think that it is a story that all of my students can make connections to, whether it is overcoming obstacles and adversity, reaching goals, doing things that others tell us we can't do, and changing the world by standing up for themselves. I think that my students will really enjoy this text.
