Hello! As a new teacher it can be tough gathering supplies and books for a new classroom. One of my goals as a teacher is to instill a lifelong love of reading in my students. Having exciting, engaging texts in my classroom is so important. Books should serve as mirrors and windows--books that students see themselves in and books that give students opportunities to learn about other people and cultures. I want to build a classroom library as engaging and diverse as my students that can be used for independent reading and read alouds!
