The materials I am requesting will make a difference in my students' learning by enhancing on their leadership skills, team work collaboration skills, problem solving and tolerance of one another. We have identified a prime location in the front lawn of our school yard to grow our community garden. We will study about the local food deserts in our city and practice community service and activism to help others know ways to help the hungry and fight food insecurities. Students will learn how to grow, harvest, and share food; become good stewards of the earth, practice good nutrition, and articulate and promote awareness and problem solving tactics pertaining to the issue of inequitable distribution of food.
