These books will allow my students to see themselves in the characters, make connections with what is happening in the story as well as gain a deeper understanding about one another and their cultures. I can also use these books during SEL time, as a read aloud, or during a mini lesson to introduce a concept. These books will be beneficial for all of my students learning no matter their race, gender, background or socio economic status. I want my students to have access to books that will not only encourage them to want to read but be a good person as well.

About my class
