This is just a shortlist of materials we need to help get our class going this year. We are trying to put together a work environment that students will be able to work in several different materials. Your donation will help us get started in setting up a studio. After a year and a half with no one at school, a lot of our supplies have gone bad. Also, being a new teacher, my classroom did not have full sets of supplies and materials. We have some supplies but not enough for 150 students to do any one project. For example, we have a lot of old printing supplies such as ink and rollers but we do not have any printing board to carve into. The Printmaking blocks and paper will be used so that we can have materials for each student to do their own print work. The most expensive item on the list is a drill that will be used in the classroom for many projects including mixing glazes and clay for ceramic projects. Drilling and screwing for building projects. It is a necessary tool for a studio art class. This is also the case for the wire cutters. We will be using those in several projects like a Caulder mobile project, and making armature for sculptures. The other materials listed sharpies, pencils, Tape, and expo erasers are generally everyday materials we are lacking to create sketchbooks and draw.
