Students have gone through an immense amount of change and transition over the last school year. As the mental health provider, it is my responsibility to ensure that the students at my school feel safe, happy, and healthy. It is imperative that I am teaching my students the social emotional skills necessary to develop resilient and flexible learners. The beginning of a new school year can bring anxiety to students, especially if they are returning to in-person learning for the first time. My job is to create a space where students can express how they feel and regulate their emotions. In my office, students will learn new skills and have the space to regulate when necessary. The tools included in my project will facilitate learning for developing social-skills, emotion regulation, and coping skills. These are such important skills for our students to learn.
