The School was built in 1969 and updated 20 years ago. HEPA filters trap small, harmful particles, such as pollen, pet dander, smoke and dust mites by forcing air through a fine mesh. In dated school buildings, our broken or worn down ac units recycles the same dirty, polluted air back into the rooms. This filter will be used to clean the air in my room to decrease the risk and spread of illness and allergens to my students that they are exposed to daily. In addition to filtering the typical dust and allergens, having a HEPA filter system will filter additional harmful compounds like Filters odors, smoke, and compounds such as formaldehyde, benzene, ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
