I use a device to teach students daily. Technology in the classroom is essential for effective teaching to take place, My device has broken and I am eagerly waiting for a replacement. I am concerned about the replacement that I will be given because it is usually a second hand computer that is not working properly. It is extremely difficult to be effective with a malfunctioning device. I am concerned that the device that I will be given will have something wrong with it. I am nervous because my previous device would freeze constantly, and it took a long time to pull up the teaching material. I have never been issued a new computer, and I have been teaching for over 20 years. I would like to have a reliable computer that I will be able to use. I have learned that having two devices helps me to be more effective when working with my class. I can use one computer to be a monitoring tool while students are working in small groups or in breakout rooms, and I can use the other for a teaching tool. Technology in the classroom is the key to successful teaching and learning during the pandemic. Students are able to share experiences through virtual field trips, access interactive activities, and share research- based information that helps support the lesson being taught.
