The iPad I am requesting will make a difference in my students' learning because it will allow me to track their discussions in math using the app called Equity Maps. It is so important to create a culture of discourse in my math class. Students are encouraged to explain and justify their thinking and reasoning. Students are encouraged to talk about the process rather than always get the answer correct. Students are encouraged to make mistakes because it allows thinking to happen. Tracking students' discussions will help me target and assist students who struggle to contribute to small group discussions.
