The items I have chosen will help my students have different seating options and calming, sensory choices that will help them calm down and relax. Having flexible seating options will help my students learn by letting them express themselves while staying focused. Many of the items on my list will allow my students to grow in their environment. These things can help them adapt to various challenges throughout their day by providing them with opportunities to learn coping skills and practice calming strategies. If students have the tools they need to help themselves, it fosters more independence and self-management skills.
