I will be teaching a 9th grade ESL/Humanities class this fall. My goal is to provide anti-racist instruction that is rooted in social justice. Throughout the class, students will reflect on what it means to value and develop their identity. As part of the Humanities curriculum, students will be doing several art projects that include making self-identity boxes, community photojournalism, and resistance art. I would like to purchase art supplies such as paints, markers, colored paper and collage materials so that students can express themselves creatively as they explore their identity and topics around social justice.
