When teaching students about muscles, one of the most difficult things to demonstrate in class muscle attachment. The current materials I use to teach point of origin and insertion are black and white photographs from textbooks. Drawings or photos of these concepts are often difficult for students to visualize. A model would provide students with a hands-on representation to explore and investigate. Students will have a better understanding of major muscles and where their point of origins and insertions are found. Many of my students are college bound and plan on majoring in a health-related field.
