Access to these reading materials will motivate and encourage my students to be excited about reading. Working with Scholastic magazines always engages students beyond using the textbook. Students will have access to articles that use current and trending topics that prompts interesting discussion and the desire to learn more. This leads to exciting research topics and writing projects. Scholastic Scope also provides scaffolded and modified classic literature pieces that makes the classics approachable and exciting. Often so many of my students have a mental block that reading is "too hard" or "they are just not readers" but with this magazine the short and manageable, but high quality texts, turns that around!

About my class
