My classroom will serve 28 students that have been diagnosed with learning challenges. The students in our district are mostly English Language Learners. My students have different individual needs and learning goals. We will work on different developmental areas to serve their needs such as: language development, history and geographical awareness, and academic development and social skills. My Project These materials were selected to support students in special education. The materials will provide hands on opportunities to support students' educational goals. The magazines will provide opportunities for my students to have articles read aloud to them. The New York Times Upfront is a high-school current events magazine that inspires and empowers students to engage with the world they live in and think critically about the news and information they consume. Our compelling stories connect history to the present day and make current events relevant to teens and their lives. Every issue also includes powerful teaching and differentiation tools that transform our stories into unforgettable learning journeys that build reading, writing and critical-thinking skills. Subscriptions include complete access to Upfront Digital and Teacher's Guides with every issue. Grades 9-12, Biweekly.
