We are creating our own classroom economy. Students will learn how to earn and manage their own money. They will do this by working classroom jobs and paying bills. They will learn how to budget their money and make scheduled payments. Money is a huge part of our decimal unit. This will allow them to reinforce what they learned and apply to real life situations. They will need to add and subtract decimals as a fifth grade skill. My students will learn valuable life skills in an experiential way. At the end of each week the students are able to spend their earned money in the classroom store. This is where your donation will help our classroom. These items are specifically requested by my students and they are super excited to begin learning about decimals.
