This project will give my students an opportunity to read a diverse books and see characters that look like them. This will enlighten students and encourage students to become emergent writers. These books will be read during shared reading lessons and students will have an opportunity to read the books during small group lessons and workstations. Students need crayons because a lot of my students do not have the needed supplies to begin the school year. The addition of a class pack of crayons will help all student have an equal opportunity to complete class assignments.
