These materials will help create jobs on campus for my students with disabilities. It will give them real-life, practical skills that can be used to help them transition after graduation. My goal is to have my classroom mimic the world around them. For example, the coffee cart will go towards creating an on-campus where my students will make, count change, and deliver coffee to teachers. The dining table, flatware, and dinnerware will allow my students to practice making a table, cleaning up a table, and sorting silverware. All of my students want to live on their own, find jobs, and become independent. By having these materials, we can create an environment that gives them the tools needed to achieve their goals. These materials are so valuable to my students because it gives them hands-on, practical work experience that can help them find employment post-graduation.
