Due to the fact that my school is located in a low-income neighborhood, many of my students are deficient in multiple areas. I have completed Language Arts and Reading assessments and have found that these are the two areas that are the most problematic, perhaps because some of my students are not native English speakers. I have decided to focus most of my attention on improving their ability to read. By improving their reading comprehension and vocabulary, I believe they will be able to transfer these skills into other areas where they may be struggling. In an attempt to make reading more appealing, I'd like to provide a comfortable, inviting place for them to read.
