These books will be used to implement literacy based speech therapy. Research shows that skills are best learned through contextualized concepts. So targeting goals through themes and books within that theme we will see progress faster. Themed therapy also helps students to stay engaged in working on their speech and language goals. Vocabulary, grammar, story retell, comprehension, social skills and articulation are just a few examples of goals my students will target using these books. My hope is that my students will show up to speech therapy excited to target their goals through engaging literacy based intervention.
