Students seem to like coming to class when the room is decorated and more "happy." Happy students equal a happy teacher. Having different seating options gives them the opportunity to learn a little differently. They're comfy and this may help them get things done quicker, help them relax to focus on work, or just gives them the option to study or work in a different area of the classroom instead of sitting them in the same seat every day. When students come into class for the first time, they notice what is on your walls and that gives them the chance to understand you and your personality. Having motivational posters around the room will help students realize they're more than just their past and living situation, but that they can do more and be more.
