My students struggle with reading. Many hate to read because they don't know the strategies to help them get better. When taught the strategies, they are more willing to sit and read on their own. Reading is essential to learning any other subject. Having a comfortable place to read will encourage them to read. This bean bag will make them more willing to sit down and try. They are allowed to self-select books at their level and what interests them. This also encourages them to read and use the strategies they are taught.
