Students will be able to build their confidence in multiple areas: reading, math, language, vocabulary, social skills, fine motor skills, etc. They will then be able to carry these skills over into their home life. Some of the items we would be making using the requested materials include tacos, salads, personal pizzas, monkey bread, and more. Many times the food made is in correlation to the letter we are working on, a story we are reading, or the holiday/season we are in/near. Using cooking lessons to help make a life connection to counting, sequencing, measuring, weighing, and time can make a huge difference in the mind of a Young Fives student. As well, along the way we are developing their vocabulary and language skills.
