These items listed in my project will help the students fully immerse themselves into their imagination. The dramatic play station will allow the students to work on both their academic skills as well as their social skills. Students will be able to build on their math related skills through sorting, adding, subtracting, and counting. Students will have the opportunity to build their reading and writing skills through reading the different food labels as well as the labels on the sorting bins and writing down grocery lists, taking orders in their restaurant, and writing down their adding and subtracting when checking out of the grocery store. Not only will academic needs be met, but also their social skills. Students will be able to practice how to have a conversation with a peer and will be able to build on their vocabulary. These problem solving skills will benefit the students greatly as they progress through their education. Children need to play in order to learn and build connections with their peers. Connecting their academics to the social emotional needs of my students will not only help them grow but also thrive.
