The books that you are helping to fund are part of a vision I have for my students for next school year. Every year, most of my students come to me reading below grade level. Although there are many reasons out of my control for this, I have come up with a plan to help students make great gains. Along with consistent guided reading and direct reading instruction, I want to foster a love of literature by updating my very old library. I carefully chose books that will be both interesting and relevant to my students. My plan is to read a chapter from a book to peak their interest and then raffle it for check out. I’m imagining students fighting over books which is a good problem to have. I am excited to be able to provide the resources, guidance, and instruction thanks to your generous donation.
