Though flex seating isn't a new idea, many classrooms throughout school districts lack options in seating for students. Rows of desks take over the class, especially when there isn't enough room in the first place. My goal with the enchanted reading corner is to create a space wherein students feel comfortable to truly dive into their work. I imagine an area that gives my kids a break from the tile floors and uncomfortable desks. Furthermore, flexible seating, not only for reading, assists students in engaging with their peers about the content they're learning. It encourages active participation, as it often makes them feel more comfortable than in the typical classroom environment.
