Preschool is a time to build, work on, and practice foundational skills that are necessary for their future success. This is especially important for special education preschool students. In all of the Special Education preschool classrooms on Kauai, we use Braidy the Story Grammar Marker to build a stronger foundation in literacy concepts. Some of the main focuses with this program at the preschool level include identifying main character, setting, sequence of events, initiating events and more. However, these are not the only skills students learn during these lessons. Student also learn about identifying emotions, controlling their emotions, empathy, improving language, speech and communication skills, social skills, identifying objects and colors, counting, and so much more. When you donate to our project, you will be contributing to the future success of these amazing preschoolers by giving them the opportunity to build the foundational skill they need. High interest books help create fun and interesting lessons that enable students build these necessary foundational skills. Books like the Pigeon series, Pout-Pout Fish, Knuffle Bunny, and Elephant and Piggy, and the others on the list are some of the books that kids love and the other items on the list help to create hands on and interactive learning that will create memorable learning experiences.
