Our students will be studying Toni Morrison‘s fantastic novel Beloved. We will be reading and discussing the work in class. Students will also have homework reading assignments, so they will need to take their copy of the novel home. We will have Socratic Seminars, daily assignments, and an AP style essay concerning this work. This novel will help us gain a better understanding of how the lasting effects of slavery still influence our society today. In this way, we can use this novel to also begin our anti-racist journeys. These novels will be a class set that students will use for years to come.
