These books will be used by my students to apply what they learn! Students learn about the sounds that letters make (sound-symbol knowledge) and then practice decoding words containing those sounds. According to numerous studies, decoding words is how good readers read. This is also NEEDED for dyslexic students to learn to read! Instead of encountering words that force them to guess, decodable readers allow students to ACCURATELY read ALL of the words! Perfect practice makes perfect, and these books allow for perfect practice! Students will gain confidence as readers, and confidence leads to the love of reading!
