My students want to make progress in their reading ability but many of them face the additional challenge of being very active and having trouble with focus and attention. The learning environment has a direct impact on student achievement, and I have found that flexible seating significantly increases motivation, engagement, and the ability to concentrate on difficult tasks. Specifically, seats that allow movement keep my students at the table with me, engaged and focused on their learning. Being able to focus and attend is so important for them to gain the foundational skills to overcome their dyslexia and become successful readers!
