Many of my students have been through a lot at such a young age. We are all still living in a world full of uncertainty. I would love for my students to be certain that my counseling office is a safe space, a place where they can enhance their resiliency skills and receive support, a place where they will have the tools to help themselves learn to self-regulate and grow as healthy individuals. The items on that list will help me achieve that. The bean bags will provide a comforting, calming corner. The fidget toys are a great resource for their stress and anxiety. The stickers are prizes to let them know they are doing an amazing job. Lastly, the books will teach them many valuable lessons to support their social emotional learning.
