Typically students walk into the classroom and are given a worksheet to start their day. I want to allow my students the freedom to choose their own activity that will promote critical thinking and collaboration through a more hands on approach. These manipulatives will engage my students the moment they walk into the room. I believe these will not only start the day in a positive manner but it will also increase attendance and students' excitement to come to school. Many of these tools will also be utilized during small group Math and Language centers.
