Hello! Our classroom is filled with a unique and diverse group of special education students. These students have intense physical and cognitive needs which can create for a challenging setting. One of the primary challenges staff faces with this population is communication. We communicate with picture symbols which, simply put, are words associated with common pictures of a particular item. We would very much like a color printer to help us better communicate, as black and white symbols are often hard to decipher. With color symbols, we feel the students would be better equipped to communicate their answers, choices, feelings and thoughts in a more effective way. Thank you for all that you do and know that if you choose to help us in any way, you are directly touching the life of each and every child in our classroom.
