The use of technology has become a daily activity in my classroom, especially in history. History is often times seen as a "boring" subject. However, our history tells the story of us all! My goal every year is to make history relevant to students! I use a lot of grouping and "station rotation". The iPads will be utilized daily in our rotations. Whether we are are visiting the amphitheater in Rome or reading a vast amount of online articles. Technology has become essential part of student learning. This resource will no doubt increase student learning, by taking a topic and allowing the students to take responsibility of their own learning. Which has become a focus in todays classroom. I have heard it said... Elite classrooms are Student Led! Basically, where they motivate themselves to learn. I firmly believe that your investment into this technology, you will be aiding me in creating a History Classroom where we can visit the Palace of Versailles without ever leaving the country! Also, when students use technology (iPad), they tend to forget about the educational aspect. Meaning they view their experience as play! I want to give my students the opportunity to make History Real! What better way to engage students? Students will be able to simply focus on the academic material at hand, and not whether their materials are going to work or not. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology!
