Students need access to literature that is relevant, useful, and interesting to the student. A lot of books in our school libraries are outdated and do not take into consideration the reading as well as the actual age of the reader. These books will be used during our independent reading time. The books chosen will hopefully interest the students as well as provide them with useful knowledge. They books chosen and read will form the basis for classroom discussion both formal and informal. They may also provide the basis for writing and presentation projects.
