As an Art Teacher, I want my youngest artists to experiment with clay to create playful sculptures. For most of these students, this is their first time in school due to virtual learning last year. This is a huge adjustment for them. Clay is a great material to release anxiety and calm the mind, which is something these primary students need. Having colorful modeling clay to create animal sculptures and to roll cool patterns on them will be magical for my young artists! This opportunity will allow them to experience a tangible accomplishment. They will hold their sculpture in their hands and share it with their classmates. The project will also provide positive self expression.
