These books will allow for a diversified learning curriculum for my students. They will act out plays, connect with a strong female African American writer and question the validity of the American Dream. The school currently has a very small amount of books to choose from for junior year. I have large class sizes and want to challenge And educate my students for the future. I am excited to dive into questions about race, class, and gender and believe these books are perfect vessels to present information during their junior year.
