The students will learn about the natural world by dissecting owl pellets. Seeing the look on a students face when they tease out a skull from one of these pellets never gets old! They will learn more about the food pyramid as they learn what owls eat first hand. They will then articulate the skeletons and identify the animal. Students revulsion about working with "owl poop" is quickly replaced by excitement as they find the treasures within. This is an experience I still remember, help me bring this experience to my students.
