To build reading skills, I rely on daily small reading groups where I can work with my students more individually to enhance their deeper understanding of text and for them to have more opportunity with peer-interaction. I am looking to have wobble chairs, a form of flexible seating, use at my guided reading table. Flexible seating provides benefits to student learning. It permits students to have some control over their environment with movement, provides comfort, allows sensory input, and helps increase of blood flow to the brain via the movement it provides. They are also fun to sit in! I would love to have wobble chairs available as a form of flexible seating at my guided reading table this school year for students and to use for my future "forever 2nd graders" as well.
