This is an instrument used in African music. Students will experience and perform authentic multicultural music. Due to the wide range of sounds, students can use the talking drums as an improvisation tool and create their own sounds. It can be combined with form and structure for students to create their own compositions. This is an instrument used in World Music Drumming ensembles. Students will enjoy adding this instrument into the ensembles they are playing. They will become confident young musicians as they experience playing progressively more complicated pieces of music!
