These resources will help my students be more confident and feel safe in an environment they will call home. They will be spending 8 hours at school and their socio-economical environment is normally low. For instance, the microphone will be used to give them a voice: my students are normally very shy and they need to get ready for high school and collage. It is essential to teach them oral skills that will help them in the near future and will give them more chances to get a good job. By using books about important women they will learn about respect and we will be creating future leaders who will not mind about gender, race or sexuality. All the learning books will be used as to work SEL in the classroom: it is essential to play games, get to know their peers and create relationships within the classroom.
